Tragedies must end with the villain's death, so Anna Karenina and Lolita are prime examples. Most of what I thought was "tragic" was something else entirely, though (see the Extra Credit section below). Blaze 's villain, Clayton "Blaze" Blaisdell, is a once-bright boy irreparably brain damaged by his abusive father.
